Welsh Baccalaureate is focused on developing essential skills ready for employment. It will help learners prepare for their future by developing the skills, attributes, and behaviors needed in the working world.

Our aim is to use a variety of learning approaches, allowing our young people to become resilient, resourceful and reflective. Learners progress is continually assessed throughout Year 10 & 11. The Welsh Baccalaureate is based on a skills challenge certificate, alongside supporting qualifications. The certificate consists of four components; the individual project, enterprise and employability challenge, global citizenship challenge and community challenge.

Course Outline & Assessment

During the programme of study, learners will complete each of the four challenges. Assessment is not by traditional examinations, but by completion of assignments that are marked within the center. A wide range of assessment methods are used to give learners every opportunity to show understanding.

This course could help learners progress on to a KS4 National Welsh Baccalaureate qualification, as long as they have the required level of passes in other GCSE subjects.
