We have been informed that the School Nursing Immunisation Team will be visiting us on 5/12/22 to administer the annual nasal spray flu vaccine as part of the NHS Wales Routine Childhood Immunisation Schedule.
Please return the e-consent form (link https://forms.office.com/r/T8xSny9s3x, or click the button below). The cut off for submission is 28.11.22, any consents submitted after this will be offered catch up clinic appointments.
It is very important to protect children from flu to maintain health, as both flu and COVID-19 are likely to circulate this winter. Nasal sprays are recommended for most children. For more information please phone the NHS (just dial 111) or visit phw.nhs.wales/fluvaccine through the link below.
Additionally, a PHW Flu Nasal Spray Leaflet should have been emailed to you. If you have not received this, please call school on 02920 529398.
After you have returned the consent form, please contact the School Immunisation Team on 02920 907664/661 or Immunisation.Cavuhbschoolnursing@wales.nhs.uk before the vaccination session if:
· there are any changes to your child’s health, or
· their asthma medication is increased, or
· they are prescribed oral steroids, or
· they become wheezy.
Note: There are a very small number of children who should not have the nasal flu vaccine please see the information sheet for more detail, or look at phw.nhs.wales/fluvaccine.
