Welcome Back - January Update

We are happy to welcome back our learners to Bryn y Deryn and Carnegie Centre today.

As you may be aware, we are running on a slightly reduced timetable as we cannot have all learners at school at the same time. Your child's form tutor has been in touch with regards to any changes. On the days where they are not at the centre, home learning will be provided. If you have any questions, please call the school on 02920 529 398 or email and we will be more than happy to help.

If your child does not have a device they can work from home on, please contact us.

Uniform for Bryn y Deryn is now non-compulsory. This is to help reduce the COVID-19 risk. Please do make sure that if own clothes are worn, they are washed or changed every day your child attends.

A three layer facemask must be worn by all learners when at school. We have a large supply of blue medical masks (below) and they can be found in all rooms and at reception.

To help reduce the spread, please could all learners remember:

  • Hands must be washed regularly (sanitising gel is available in all classrooms)

  • Where possible, keep 2m apart from any other learners and staff

  • Wear a three layer facemask when at school

  • Not to attend school if they are showing COVID-19 symptoms or if have been in contact with a confirmed positive case

Please remember, in the event that your child develops COVID-19 symptoms (persistent dry cough, a high temperature or loses their sense of taste or smell) follow the government guidelines; self-isolate and book a test. The most up-to-date advice can be found here

Thank you and we look forward to the new term.
