Parent Information

A message from our school based counsellor:

As a service we are trying to put together some telephone support for young people.  It will not be counselling but a weekly telephone support space.

If there are some young people you feel would engage and benefit from this additional support could you please offer it to them.  We can offer time for them to have a chat about what is happening, how they are feeling, how they are coping, helping support them find their own resilience’s (within the limits of their environment) signpost to legitimate online resources / helpful websites apps etc.   We will know more about how many times I can call and duration as we assess the demand that comes in.

If parents / carers want to refer the young person themselves for support then they can contact our landline number:  02922 330709 and telephone support to be allocated to their child. Follow them on Instagram using @cardiff2talk2

Self Isolation or Not?

Advice for parents on deciding whether your child should self-isolate and not attend school as of 16/03/2020

Public Health Wales states that the most common symptoms of Coronavirus are recent onset of:

  • New continuous cough and /or

  • High temperature

If a learner has these symptoms they should stay at home and not leave the house for 14 days from when the symptoms started.

There is no need to call NHS111.  Those with mild symptoms will not be tested.

However, if symptoms worsen or are no better after 14 days, on-line contact should be made with NHS111.

If your child has been directly exposed to a confirmed case of Coronavirus, please contact the school to make us aware as soon as possible.

Thank you

Dewis Cymru

Dewis Cymru is the place to go if you want information or advice about your well-being - or want to know how you can help somebody else.

When we talk about your well-being, we don't just mean your health. We mean things like where you live, how safe and secure you feel, getting out and about, and keeping in touch with family and friends. No two people are the same and well-being means different things to different people. So Dewis Cymru is here to help you find out more about what matters to you.

We've got information that can help you think about what matters to you, and we've also got information about people and services in your area that can help you with the things that matter to you. Please click on the image below for more information:
